How do we Sort Pt's. 

Get on the PA system, anyone can walk send them to a safe location (green), tell people to raise hands or look at you (yellow), anyone not looking at you or moved is RED. Anyone obviously dead is black.

How do we define Assess?

Assign triage teams of two responders. Grab box of gloves, and kits (Surveyor Tape, Israeli bandage, chest seal, tourniquets)

Start with non responsive, then move to could raise hands, greens will be assessed later.

Airway, pulse, major bleed, LOC.

Apply tape and KEEP A PIECE FOR YOURSELF.

Define Sort?

Sort by color.

Green can walk and follow orders.

Yellow can follow orders but cannot walk away.

RED not following orders cannot walk away.

BLACK obviously deceased (No RPM).

How to know what color to tag a pt?

Not breathing try open airway if still no tag BLACK (1 to 8y/o give 2 breaths).

Begins breaths tag RED, breathing fast, slow, noisy tag RED.

Breathing normal continue, radial pulse absent tag RED, pulse present continue, CONTROL MAJOR BLEED.

Can't move finger and toes tag RED, if they can YELLOW.

Coordinate vehicle load up with treatment supervisor. 

Obtains hospital destination, finds out how many beds each has through (DMCC).

Supervises Loading teams.
