When you pop a narc what are you supposed to do on the card?
Initial next to the one you popped
When do you approve a new order in the computer?
Approve the order by the next scheduled dose.
What are you supposed to document when someone refuses their medication?
"Resident Refused" button and what they said/why they refused.
How do you get a medication sent to back up?
Contact pharmacy about what medication is needed and ask for them to send it to the back up pharmacy. (Day shift or Night shift can do this)

What is the procedure when sending a resident out and filling out the incident report?
Call 911, obtain vitals, get paper work ready (911 quit print/DNR), have someone waiting by the door for EMS.
Fill out check list, fill out affected resident and who was contacted in Care Suite.
How do you reorder diabetic supplies?
Call pharmacy and let them know what you need and for what resident you need it for. (May need to write on a paper and fax it to them if instructed to)
What is the procedure for administering insulin?
Clean the insulin syringe with an alcohol prep pad, insert needle into syringe, prime pen to 2 units, set pen to correct amount of units, HAVE A SECOND PERSON CHECK INSULIN. (Correct insulin pen and correct dose)
What is one thing that needs to be done to the narc book before coming on/off the cart?
Sign the narc book "staff on/off" sheet and count the cards and pages to make sure they match.
Explain the process on getting hold orders.
Call and get a telephone order, notify POA, fax to pharmacy, "suspend" the order in the computer for 24 hours.
After you administer a standing order what to you do?
CLICK IT OFF THAT YOU GAVE IT.
What medications should you disposition and what medications need the disposition log?
ALL medications need to be dispositioned in the computer, only narcs need the log.
When a resident is not feeling well, what needs to be done?
Process for placing and removing patches.
Check resident for old patch, remove patch, apply new patch in a different area, time date and initial patch, ensure patch is in the same location that is documented in the computer, place old patch on the calendar.
Explain the process of writing a telephone order and entering it manually into the computer.
Explain what to fill out, what names need to be written down, who needs to be called, and how to put it in the computer and change end date times

Standing order sheet, activate standing order, perform wound care as instructed, time date and initial would care.
