The term "anxiety disorder" refers to specific psychiatric disorders that involve extreme fear or worry, and includes generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), panic disorder and panic attacks, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), social anxiety disorder and specific phobias.
