Restricted black people's right to own property, conduct business, buy and lease land, and move freely through public spaces.
What is Steerage & what is it for?
It's bottom quarters/ parts of immigrant ships.Noisy,crowded, and housed the poorest immigrants.
What was the Emancipation Proclamation?
Declared "that all persons held as slaves" within the rebellious states "are, and henceforward shall be free".
On Angels Island, what immigrants were mostly there?
Used to process mostly Asian immigrants.
