There is a runner on 1st with less than 2 outs. A line drive is hit to the SS. The SS purposely misses the ball after it hits inside his glove. He then throws to 2nd to get the lead runner in hopes to turn 2 since the batter didn't hustle. Is the runner at 2nd safe or out?
The runner would be safe, but would have to return to 1st. The hitter would be declared out. You cannot intentionally drop a line drive/pop fly that hits your glove. This is deemed by the umpire's judgement. If it were to drop without touching the glove, it would be legal.
What is the standard for us in 'calling' a pop fly?

Once the pitcher looks at the runner at 1st, both runners take off. The pitcher will be concerned with the guy at first leaving early, just in time for us to score the run.

There is a runner on 1st base with 1 out. The hitter has a 2-2 count. The pitch is thrown, and the umpire declares "BALL 4 TAKE YOUR BASE". The hitter goes to first and the runner on 1st goes to 2nd. The defensive team makes the umpire aware that the previous pitch was only ball 3 and shows him the book. The umpire concludes that it was only ball 3. What happens from here? What is the ruling?
The runner at 2nd gets to stay at 2nd. Even though it wasn't a walk (only ball 3), the ball was still "Live". Because of this, the runner advancing to 2nd gets to stay. The batter would return to the box and have a 3-2 count.
