What is Minga?
The app we use to track and correct behaviors for SISD.
When submitting a "Positive Parent Note" praise in Minga, what additional step should you take?
Teachers should include a short note in the "Note to Student" box at the bottom right of the screen to detail what positive behavior was exhibited by the student.
What do you do if Minga is not working for the day? *For everyone.
Check your email for a notification from the district, but don't stress! They will have it back up and running soon.

What color is a Tier 1 behavior in Minga?
Tier 1 behaviors are Yellow.
How do students earn points?
Teachers must award "Praises" for positive character shown in the classroom. Points are deducted when "Behaviors" are assigned.
In which category would you find behaviors in Minga?
Guidance.
What do you do if a student has their phone out?
1. Call 8000 or 8100 for an admin to collect the device. (If refusing to hand device over, call a TOD.)
2. Put it into Minga as a Cell Phone offense. It will automatically assign the proper consequences based on how many offenses it has been. Cell Phones are -15 points, plus the "Away for the Day" consequences.
What if you are out for the day and have a substitute?
Admin will continue to work on tardies in the halls. When you come back, assign behaviors based on any notes from the substitute. If the sub didn't leave any notes, don't worry about points for the day.
Where do you find the assignments in Minga?
Once you are on your class period page, select the "Category" dropdown to find the Behaviors, Praises, and Hall Passes.
What is the most common way that students earn points for shopping the Minga store?
Teachers award the "On Time to Class" Praise.

Examples may include: Clawsome Conduct, Positive Parent Note, On Time to Class, Excellence, Good Thinking, Kindness, and Work Wizard.

What if you don't have your normal students in class and need to assign praise or guidance? (*For testing, subbing, coverage, see someone in the hallway, etc.)
If you are on "My Class" and look in the top left, there is a magnifying glass that says "Search All Students". Type in the name of the student you want, and they will pop up at the bottom of the screen.
What would happen if Johnny receives an "On Time to Class" praise 8 times in one day?
Johnny would receive a Consequence called "On Time Streak" worth 25 points.

What a should should you do if a student is repeatedly exhibiting Tier 1 behaviors?
There is now going to be a "Repeated Tier 1" button that escalates it to a Tier 2 behavior with associated consequences.
What if we accidentally assign a behavior?
If you accidentally assign a behavior, you can do one of two things:
1. Assign a behavior to counteract it (For instance, if we accidentally assign an "Off Task" worth -5 points, you can assign a praise such as "Kindness" worth +5 points and it will balance it out.
2. You can contact one of the Minga Managers: Juarez, Derryberry, Pittman, Christensen, or Molina, and we can go in and adjust it.
How do you find out how many points a student currently has?
From your class period page, click the profile picture icon for a specific student and go to their profile page. It will show their "Redeemable Points".

When do you put a behavior into Skyward?
NEVER! All discipline will be handled through Minga from now on. The only people utilizing Skyward for behavior will be the admin team. (Yay!)
How do we sync class rosters when there is a change? (Students added, dropped, or not enrolled for that semester)
Jeff pushes out updates on Minga--it does not automatically sync with Skyward. If you are having an issue with your rosters, reach out to a Minga Lead, and we will try to assist. If we aren't able to help, we can ask Jeff to add/remove the student from the roster.
How do you see a student's prior assignments?
Click on "My Classes", locate the student and select the profile icon by their name. Then click "Behaviors" at the top.
