What does the mail courier do?
They take notes to the office and pass out papers to the class if Miss C. asks.
What does being responsible look like?
- Being prepared
- Taking care of school property and classroom materials
- Organizing time well
- Doing your best
What does lining up look like?
-Push in chairs and walk quietly to line up at the door
- Don't touch anyone in line or while getting to the line
- Keep voice level at a low level
Asking for help
- Ask 3 people before asking Miss C.
- Raise your hand and wait to be called on
What if I'm late to school?
- Go to the office for a late pass
- Come in classroom quietly and give pass to Miss C.
What does the door holder 1 do?
They stand at the front of the line and hold the first doors (the one in the pod and the first door when coming in from recess). What are other doors they hold?
What does being respectful look like?
- Listening while others are talking
- Treating others the way you want to be treated
- Following directions the first time
What would bathroom procedures look like?
- Asking Miss C. for permission by doing signal
- Walking calmly, safely, and quietly to the bathroom
- Being appropriate and respectful in the bathroom
- Going to the bathroom and then coming straight back to class to continue learning
Cleaning up at the end of the day
-Everyone helps clean and makes sure their table area is ready to go for the following day
-Floor is clean and table group is organized and tidy
I have a substitute teacher? How do I behave?
- Exactly like you would with Miss C.
- Be helpful to the teacher (in a nice way) and be kind
- Be flexible and calm if things are not going exactly how they normally do
What does the substitute do?
If any students are absent, they do the job for them.
What does a good listener look like?
- Eyes are watching the presenter
- Ears are listening
- Lips are closed
- Hands are still
- Feet are quiet
What does working on tasks look like?
- Quietly working at your table or working with table group
- Being focused on the assignment
Classroom Library
Books neatly put back in correct baskets basket on color or topic
What happens if it is an indoor recess?
- You don't need to bring your coat
- Play with equipment in gym and follow all indoor recess rules
What does the sanitation worker do?
They give out hand sanitizer to all students before going to lunch.
What does being a safe student look like?
- Hands to themselves
- All chair legs on the floor
- Walking, not running
- Being safe with supplies
What do you do when you enter the class in the morning?
Put backpack in cubby and sit quietly at your desk
Getting supplies for your table group
- Miss C. will call numbers to get supplies or put supplies back
- Walk to get supply back or correct number of supplies or walk to put all of the supplies back
- Take supplies to your table
If I need to go to the office
Tell Miss C. and I will write a pink pass for you
What does the librarian do?
They pick up any books around the room, make sure the class library is tidy and all the books are in the right spot, they take the library books to the library, and they show Miss C. any books that need to be repaired.
What do you do when you have something you want to say?
Raise your hand and wait to be called on or do hand signals.
What should your tables look like each day?
-CLEAN
- Pencils and feathers organized in the caddy on table group
-All papers in your book bin or turned in
If there is a fire
Line up and exit the classroom through our recess doors in an orderly fashion
What do I do at lunch?
- Walk calmly as you're getting your lunch and don't rush
- Sit in assigned spot
- Stay calm and follow all cafeteria rules
- Do not share food with others
