"To put off your old self" means to get rid of the life being corrupted by deceitful desires and live a life full of righteousness and in the image of God. Examples of doing so are: being honest - controlling their anger, and not letting it lead to sin - They should work hard - speak kindly, avoid bitterness, rage, and harsh words - should be kind, compassionate, and forgiving, just as God forgave them through Christ. Ephesians 1-4 teaches that God saves people through Jesus, not by their efforts. He unites all believers as one family. Paul encourages Christians to live with love, unity, and holiness, following Jesus’ example.
