No one correct answer. Examples: depending on their place in the hierarchy, people had more or less difficulty getting food, housing, land, and even positive social relationships. Their daily roles changed (Hugo goes hunting not to survive but as a symbol of being a man, whereas Giles had to pull tricks on people to earn his daily meal). There was a lot of inequality, suffering in lower classes, and a general separation of nobility from the rest of the population.
