A writer's voice is the way his or her personality comes through on the page, via everything from word choice and sentence structure to tone and punctuation.

CENTRAL IDEA refers to what the text is mainly about. Central idea is NOT the topic of the text. Central idea can most often be stated in one sentence.

An adjective is a word that describes the traits, qualities, or number of a noun. What are examples of adjectives? Descriptive words like “beautiful,” “smooth,” or “heavy” are all adjectives, as are numbers ( “twelve eggs”).
