Should you accept food or drink from a stranger?
No!
We only accept food and drinks from people we know.
What should you do if you see a hurt animal outside?
Get help from an adult. They will call 911 or animal control.
What is something in your house that could cause a house fire?
1. matches or candles
2. stove or oven
3. heaters
What is the safe way to cross the road?
1. use the crosswalk!
2. LOOK both ways! look left & right multiple times
3. hold hands
4. walk quickly
What is the name for someone who tries to log in and steal your online information?
a Hacker
Does a stranger have to look like a "bad" person?
No!
Remember, a stranger is someone you don't know.
What should you do before going anywhere in the community?
1. Bring an adult with you.
2. Bring a phone if you have one.
3. Tell someone where you are going. Someone should always know where you are in case of an emergency.
What can we do to protect our family and friends from getting sick?
1. Wear a mask.
2. Social distance: stay 6 feet apart.
3. Wash your hands!
What information should we NEVER share with people we don't know online?
1. your name
2. your age
3. your address
4. any personal information (passwords)
If you get lost, who is a safe stranger you can find to ask for help?
1. a neighbor that you know
2. a police officer
3. a person who works at the place you're visiting
Should you get into a swimming pool alone?
No!
Even if you are a great swimmer, accidents happen. You always need one other person with you to be safe.
What should you do if your house is on fire?
Follow your Family Safety Plan!
Get out of the house quickly. Meet your family outside. Use a cell phone or a neighbor's phone to call the fire department.
If you ever feel unsafe in any situation, what should you do?
Tell a trusted adult and get help.
In an emergency, Call 911.
What should you do if someone is being mean to you online?
Always tell a parent or adult.
Report them and Block them.
If someone you don't know says, "Your mom told me to give you a ride home. Come with me," What should you do?
Say no!!!
Go to a public place and get help.
When playing outside on a hot summer day, what should we make sure we have with us?
1. Water!
2. Sunscreen or protective clothing.
What should you do if there is a lot of smoke in your house and why?
Get as low as you can (because smoke rises).
Get out of the house and call 911!
What is the best thing you can do with your family today to be prepared for a safety situation?
Create a Family Safety Plan!
Talk about all of the What If scenarios, come up with a plan, and practice!
If a stranger online wants to meet you in person, what do you do?
Say No!! (or ignore them).
Block them and Report them! Tell an adult.
