Which phase of the moon has more than half the moon light (list all)?

Waxing and Waning gibbous and full moon

100

In what position are the sun, moon, and Earth during a solar eclipse? You may draw a picture or write it out.

Sun, moon, Earth.

100
What is meant by high tide? What is meant by low tide?
High tide is the farthest point on shore that the tide rises up to. Low tide is the lowest point on shore that the tide rises up to.

What does Luminosity mean

The intrinsic brightness of a celestial object

100

What is the highest of increasing wavelength

What is the highest of the visible light

What is the lowest of the visible light

What is the lowest of decreasing wavelength

Highest- Radiowave

Visible light highest- Red

Visible light lowest- Violet

Lowest- Gamma

200

Which phase of the moon follows full moon?

Waning gibbous

200

In what position are the sun, moon, and Earth during a lunar eclipse? You may draw it or write it out.

Sun, Earth, moon.

200

What are spring and neap tides?

Spring tides are the highest tides

Neap tides are the lower tides

200

What does Nebula and Protostar mean

Nebula- numerous clouds of gases or dust in space

Protostar- numerous clouds of gases that form into stars

200

Draw what a Gamma ray compared to a Radio ray

300

Name all phases of the moon, in order, starting with New Moon.

New moon, waxing crescent, 1st quarter, waxing gibbous, full moon, waning gibbous, 3rd quarter, waning crescent.

300

Why do we have seasons?

Because Earth is tilted!!!

300

What are tides?

Tides are the alternating rise and fall of sea level produced by the gravitational attraction of the moon and sun.

300

How many classification are their and What are they

4 and they are SuperGiants-Giants-Main Sequence-White Dwarf

300

What is the definstion of Solar System, Galaxy and Universe

Solar System-A small grouping of orbiting stars

Galaxy-Group of millions or billions of stars and other masses held together

Universe-Totality of all things that exist

400

What are the definitions of waxing and waning?

Waxing means increasing in light on right side. Waning means decreasing on the left side.

400

During which phase of the moon do we see a lunar eclipse?

Full moon

400

Would the damage caused by a hurricane be worse during high or low tide? Why????

Damage would be worse during high tide because the tide is higher and this would cause more flooding and higher surf.

400

what is the order of the Luminosity least to greastest

1,000,000-100,000-10,000-1,000-100-10-1-0.1-0.01-0.001-0.0001

400

What is the order of the three by size smallest to largest

Solar System then Galaxy then Universe

500

If only a small portion of the moon was illuminated, which phase might this moon represent?

Either waxing or waning crescent.

500

Why don't we see a lunar or solar eclipse every month?

Because the moons orbit is tilted 5 degrees to Earth's orbit.

500
Why do we have tides?
We have tides because of the graviational pull of the moon and sun on Earth. The moon and Earth are attracted to each other just like magnets. The moon is pulling at everything on Earth and Earth holds onto everything except water because water is always moving. The moon is pulling upwards on the water while the earth is pulling downward. Slight advantage to the moon and thus we have tides.
500

What is the order of the colors in temp by hottest to coolest.

Blue-White Blue-White-Yellow-Orange-Red

500

What is the order of the three by age oldest to youngest

Universe then Galaxy then Solar System
