What should I do if I want to retake a Formative Assessment? Can I do the same for a Summative Assessment?
Requirements: (ALL must be completed prior to re-take) 1.Complete all formative assignments: Complete all practice and the study guide if not previously completed. 2.Evidence of Additional Review: Design another way to show you’ve reviewed (you can ask me for suggestions ). 3.Parent Signature: Ask your parent(s) to sign below after completing your reflection responses. 4. Out-of-Class Study Session: Schedule a time outside of class to meet with Mr. Doyle to review the material and ask questions (if retake is required, scheduling time is also required).

What is the difference between a Formative and Summative assessement? What percentage is each worth when figuring out your total grade?
Summative Assessments are end of the Chapter assessments. These can be but are not limited to: Common Assessments, Quizzes, and end of chapter projects. Summative assessments count for 70% of the student’s grade. Formative Assignments are completed during a chapter. These are used to monitor student learning and adjust instruction. These can include but are not limited to: mid-chapter quizzes, daily practice, quiz reviews, chapter Are You Ready’s, class work, exit slips (when specified). Formative assignments/assessments count for 30% of the student’s grade.
