This Saint was an Englishman who was captured by the Druids as a younger man. He escaped and became a priest then a bishop, then returned to Ireland to convert the Irish people to Christ. He is known for performing miracles such as driving the snakes out of Ireland.

St. Patrick

This is one of the seasons that the priest wears people except for one say which he wears rose or pink vestments. It is the season where prepare for Christ’s coming.

This is our current Pope as of April 2026. He was elected last year on May 8, 2025 and is the first American Pope. He is originally from Chicago but spent much of priesthood and bishopric in Peru. 

Pope Leo XIV

is is the last Sacrament of Initiation. It seals you with the Holy Sprit and you receive graces. After this, you are an adult member of the Church and are called to bring others into the Church.

Confirmation

This Greek Saint was a wealthy child who was orphaned when he was young. He used his wealth to help those in need. He was known for putting gold coins in people’s shoes at night if they left the shoes out.  He became a bishop and was imprisoned for being a Christian. It is believed that he possibly slapped a heretic at a council. His Feast Day is December 6.

This is another season that the priest wears purple except for one day where he wears pink or rose colored vestments. This season we prepare for Jesus’s Passion, Death, Resurrection and Ascension. 

Lent

Jesus did this 40 days after Easter where he went up into the sky to sit at his Father’s right hand. 

Ascended into Heaven

This pope was elected in 2013. He was the first pope from South America and resigned from 2013 until his death in 2025. He was known for conducting synods on various issues such as family matters, and Amazonian outreach. 

Pope Francis

This sacrament is when a man is ordained to be a priest.

Holy Orders

This French Saint is known for her “Little Way” to Christ. She was a Carmelite and is venerated at Holy Hill. She is also known as the Little Flower. 

St Thérèse of Lisieux

These are seasons where the priest wears white, symbolizing the purity of Christ and that he is the Light of the World. One season celebrates His Incarnation and Birth and lasts for at least 12 days.  The other celebrates his Resurrection and conquering of Death itself and lasts for 50 days. 

Christmas and Easter

Jesus performed this miracle for his friend Lazarus who was dead for four days prior to His arrival. 

Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead

this pope was known for his jet setting around the world, jolly disposition, and Theology of the Body as well as his updates to the Catechism. He was shot in 1981 but was not killed. After he recovered, he met his would-be assassin and forgave him. His reign was long; from 1978 - 2005. 

Pope St. John Paul II

This Sacrament wipes away all eternal effects of our sin. We need this to get our soul into a state of grace. 

Reconciliation and Penance / Confession

This Saint was Jesus’ beloved disciple. He wrote one of the Gospels and is known for his personal and direct tone. He was the brother of James the Greater, one of the Sons of Thunder as Jesus dubbed them. He was the only apostle not to be Martyred.

St. John the Apostle

This is the shortest season. The priest wears red vestments to symbolize Jesus’ bloody Passion and Death. This season lasts for three days from Maundy Thursday until Easter Vigil at sundown. Its name is Latin for “three days”. 

Holy Triduum

Jesus performed this miracle with 5 loaves and 2 fish. Thousands of people came to hear him preach about God’s Kingdom but there was not enough food.

This pope was called “the Great” because he helped the poor, organized the Church, and sent missionaries to England. He is the patron saint of musicians and teachers. He also reformed the calendar to its current form that we use today.
