What is Negative?
This speech is given to the first speaker and means helpful and promotes improvement.
What is Constructive Speech?
Which student pretends to be sweet and kind but we all know better?
Who is Micah?
Each side presents their case based on research evidence. Individual pieces of evidence are given this name. It's like playing spades!
What are cards?
This speech is given to the second speaker. It rebuilding your own case, but you must go on the ATTACK first. And I don't mean literally.
What is the Rebuttal Speech?
Jillian dates Theo, Neo, or Jackson. Wait! What is his name again?
What is Leo?
Both sides answer questions posed during crossfire periods, similar to this courtroom strategy against a hostile witness.
What is cross-examination?
This speech is performed by the third speaker that entails a simple summary that restates the main arguments and solidifies the main issues in the round.
What is the Summary Speech?
This student wishes he were a little bit taller, and wishes he was a baller.
Who is Amir?
The objective of debate is to convince the judge (or audience) to do this?
What is vote for your team?
This speech is delivered by the fourth speaker. It explains why your team won the round and why the judge should vote for you. But you must maintain this to convince the judge.
What is Final Focus?
This student harasses Mr. Smith every class period and is obsessed with a JR basketball player.
Who is Shelbee?
Debate requires listening, understanding of both sides of the issue, and this skill that rhymes with Caucasian.
What is persuasion?
This three-minute exhibition is analogous to gunfire from two or more directions and comes right after speaker three.
What is Grand Crossfire?
This student also harasses Mr. Smith is an advocate for animals but has threatened Mr. Smith's life.
