DAILY DOUBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What is the Purpose of this quote from the 95 Theses? 86. "Again; why does not the Pope, whose riches are at this day more ample than those of the wealthiest of the wealthy, build the one Basilica of St. Peter with his own money, rather than with that of poor believers?"
Martin Luther thought it was unfair that the Pope and the Catholic Church were receiving so much money from its followers and building St. Peters Basilica with it. He wanted to protest saying that the Pope should spend some of his own money to finance the job.
