If your class job is to clean the floors, what should you do? 

2 people can use the brooms to sweep the floor. Everyone else on floors is responsible for helping by using the dust pans or picking up trash off the floor. If you are not responsible enough with the brooms, I will ask that someone else use it and you can pick up the trash with your hands.

How many people can use the bathroom at once? 

1 boy and 1 girl at a time.

How should we not use our hands or feet in class?

At school we respect our classmates so we do not hit, pinch, push, kick, spit, trip, or anything else that will hurt someone's feelings or body.

When is a good time to sharpen your pencil in class?

During work time and not when Mrs. Jobin or another student is speaking.

Should you use the bathroom or water fountain before the bell rings in the morning?

Yes. Please use the bathroom and water fountain before school starts. This will ensure you are ready for class.

What should you do if you are on stacking chairs as your clean up job?

Stack all the class chairs into stacks of 5. Please do not run or slide the chairs around the room. Show me you can be responsible.

Raise your hand with a W. If I say yes, please sign out and put the cone on your desk.

How should we speak to our classmates?

We can say nice things, give compliments, help each other. 

We do not call each other names or bully each other. If anyone is saying mean words or names, I will speak to their parents.

How should you move around the classroom?

Please use walking feet, push in your chair when you get up, and be quiet so you don't distract everyone else.

What can you do in the morning before the bell goes? 

Quietly talk to your friends, colour, read, draw, write, play with a quiet bin activity at your desk.

What should you do if you are teacher's helper?

Please make sure the chrome books are plugged in, erase the board, straighten up the desks, any other job the teacher asks.

When should you not ask to go to the washroom? 

During a lesson, when someone is already out, or during small group when my don't bug me ears are on.

What should we be doing when Mrs. Jobin is teaching? What should our hands, mouth, eyes,  and ears be doing?

Your hands should on in your lap, your mouth closed, eyes on the speaker, and ears listening. Showing someone you are listening is a sign on respect.

What should you do if you need help with a problem or activity? 

Check if I put the instructions on the board, ask 3 students before me, if you still cannot figure out what to do, you can ask me. You need to show me that you can be a good listener and be independent.

On my U-table where I will see it. Also, please tell me that you left something for me.

What should you do if your class job is finished? 

Please tidy off your own desk and get ready in the hall for home time. Come back into the classroom when you are ready and you can watch the show on the screen.

Are you allowed to leave the room without permission?

No. If you need the bathroom, water fountain, or something from your bag or the office you MUST ask first. If you leave without me saying yes, I will need to let your parents know as it is not safe and against school rules.

When it is time to move centers, what should you do?

Please make sure you clean up your area quickly and quietly. Try to be ready to move to the new center efficiently.

Should you come into the classroom yelling, running, or rolling on the floor? 

No! Even if no teacher or adult is in the room, you still need to follow school rules. You will be 8 years old and in grade 3 soon and that comes with more responsibility.

How should you behave in the hallway at home time? 

Please pack your bag quickly and quietly. Stay in your own space, and put all your belongings into your bag.

Should you be yelling, writing on the bathroom walls or mirror, leaving garbage on the floor, or making the floor wet when in the bathroom?

Absolutely not! If you are not able to be responsible in the bathroom, I will need to phone home and you will lose points.

What can you do if you are really upset or frustrated?

Take 5 big deep breaths, walk away from the person or situation making you mad, ask to talk to a friend, ask to go take a short walk in the hall, have a sip of water, take a minute to close your eyes and put your head down on your desk.

What should we do before snack and lunch time?

Please make sure you wash your hands at the sink in the back of the classroom. Please use soap and water. Dry your hands with 1 paper towel and then throw it in the garbage. We need to try to keep everyone safe and healthy.
