Can not do: games on Chromebook, talk, disrupt others
If disrupting others, Mrs. Johnson will give you more work.

What is the procedure for binders?
Get binder when entering classroom
Mrs Johnson will tell one group at a time to put binders away before the bell rings (sometimes the bell rings before we get the chance and you will put your own binder away on the way out of class)
What does appropriate group work look like?
-you can disagree without arguing
-quiet voices
-all participating
-be kind to each other and support each other
What is the purpose of your classroom binder? How can you take ownership of it and use it to better assist you this semester?

While asking Mrs. Johnson questions is good, practicing independence is also a good skill. What should you do if you are stuck on a problem with your homework before you ask Mrs. Johnson?
Look at notes from lesson. Try it out before bringing it to Mrs. Johnson. Challenge yourself, you are capable of more than you think !
When is an appropriate time to ask to go to the restroom? When is not the best time to ask to go to the restroom?
An appropriate time to use the restroom is during independent work time
Avoid interrupting Mrs. Johnson in the middle of a lesson so you do not miss out of the cool and fun things we are learning in math class :)
What does appropriate independent work look like?
-Working without talking unless Mrs. Johnson has said you can check with a peer
-Raising your hand or coming to Mrs. Johnson's desk if you have a question after you have looked at your notes
What should using the classroom whiteboards look like?
-use them only for the math problems (not for drawing because Mrs Johnson only has so many markers and it wastes ink)
-do not draw or poke erasers
-if a marker is dead, you may switch it quietly

-make sure binder is away NICELY

Participating in some way!
-listening well (actually listening, not just looking at me, I can tell....)
-taking good notes
-asking and answering questions
What should you do if your Chromebook is dead at the start of class?
Find a charger or loaner Chromebook - you do not need to announce to the entire class that your Chromebook is dead, seriously you don't
If it becomes a constant issue then we will have a discussion, but otherwise just figure it out without disrupting the entire class :)
