What is Brian was going from New York to Canada to spend the summer with his father. His parents were recently divorced. He lived with his mother during the school year and was going for his first summer visit with his father.

Describe the plane's landing.
What is the engine died suddenly. Brian was able to guide the plane toward a lake. The plane crashed through some trees and landed in a lake. Brian didn't realize that he was screaming as the plane was crashing. Once the plane was in water, Brian got himself to the surface of the lake and then to the shore, where he passed out.

What is at first he didn't do anything but look at the bear. Then, after the bear had gone, he made a sound of fear, and ran in the opposite direction. After he had run about fifty yards he realized the bear was not interested in him, so he went back to the raspberry bushes and continued picking. Later that night he wondered if the bear had been as surprised as he was.

He had many dreams about the lake, but they were not disturbing. His parents appeared to be getting back together, but after a week his father went back to the oil fields. His mother still saw the man in the station wagon.

What is a cow moose. It attacked him and drove him into the lake. When he tried to get out she attacked again. He pretended to be dead until her attention was diverted, then moved slowly on his hands and knees and was able to get back to land. His ribs were badly hurt. After the moose left the area, Brian went back to the lake to get his bow and spear and the dead foolbird.
