What should I do when I come in the classroom?

I am going to put away my backpack, walk to my desk, eat my breakfast, and work on the Morning Meeting activity or iReady.

How should I get to the bathroom?

I will walk quietly to the bathroom and walk quietly back. I will be like a sneaky ninja and no one will distract me.

What level should my voice be at?

When I am in the classroom, usually I am at a talking or whispering. When I am in the playground, I can use any voice level. When I am in the cafeteria, I am at a talking level.

Where do I put my water bottle?

Put it by your backpack. If you need a drink, raise your hand and I will most likely let you go.

What do I do when I am working with a partner?

I will be kind and polite to them. I will ask them if they want to speak first, then I will speak. We will stay on task and work together to reach our goals.

What should I do if I need to use the restroom?

Try to go before class starts! I will ask Mrs. Parks' before I leave the classroom.

How should I get to the Nurse?

I will go to Mrs. Parks and tell her what is wrong. Then, if Mrs. Parks can't help me, I will go to the Nurse just like I am going to the bathroom. I will walk quietly to Nurse Amanda

What do I do if I finish early?

I can do two things. I can choose to help someone nearby, or I can quietly read my library book.

What should I do with my whiteboard?

Write when I am supposed to. I will not doodle on my board unless Mrs. Parks tells me to. I will keep it clean, and put it away when I am finished with it. I will be gentle with my marker and not push it down.

What do I do when I am working in a group?

I will be kind and polite. I will make sure everyone gets a turn. I will listen to everyone and work together to reach our goal!

Everyone listening to one another and focused on our conversations.

I will walk quietly in line through the hall. I will be a role model to younger students.

How can I show that I am a good listener?

My eyes will follow the speaker, sometimes I can nod or use hand signals to show I agree with what they are saying. I am not distracted by something else. I am not speaking over them, and I raise my hand if I want to add anything.

What should I do with my Social Studies book?

I will write my name in the front. I will then be gentle with it. I will do my best to keep it clean and the pages flat. I will not doodle in my book.

What do I do if my team finishes early?

We will talk about our answer and see if we can make it even better

What if I need a new pencil?

I can go and replace my worn down pencils with new ones by the pencil sharpener. I will do this before class starts.

How should I get to and from Recess

I will stay in line until I get to the playground. I will be a role model to younger students. When I hear Mrs. Parks whistle, I will line up in front of her.

How can I be a good speaker?

I am confident in what I am saying, but I am also open to new ideas and conversations. I am well prepared, and I look at who I am speaking to.

What should I do with my Chromebook?

I will ALWAYS carry it with both hands. I will let Mrs. Parks know if I need to charge it. I will only get on websites I know I am allowed to get on.

What if my team can't agree?

If your team can't agree, try to make a win-win. Change both of your ideas and see if you can make an agreement. I will not get upset at my partner or my team.

How can I be a great citizen of our classroom?

I can be respectful to others. I can help others in need. I can be kind to others, even when I disagree with them.

How should I get to another classroom?

I will line up quietly and wait until Mrs. Parks says I am ready. Then, I will walk to the next rotation.

By following Mrs. Parks directions and going above and beyond as a leader!

What should my desk look like?

My desk is neat, with no mess all over it. Under my desk, there is nothing in the floor. In my desk, I have my materials bag on one side and my Social Studies book on the other.

What if someone on my team is distracted?

I will remind my partner to focus on the goal we both have. I want to encourage my partners, not tattle on them. If they are distracting others, I will let Mrs. Parks know.
