Where does my work go when I am done?

In the correct basket on the bookcase at the back of the room.

We go to the treeline and face the building without talking.

No. Go. But only at the right times. (There are plenty.) Before school, 1 time during independent work, lunch, and during packup.

Only after you are packed and ready to go and are quiet.

In the morning after unpacking. It is on the board and to be written in your notebook.

How do we do a tornado drill?

Go into the hallway on the left side. Face the wall. Get on your knees and lace your fingers together behind your neck.

When can I have water? Do I need permission?

Yes if you go to the fountain. Bring a water bottle in your bag and you can get it without asking before school, 1 time during independent work, and during packup.

How and when do we get a sharp pencil if our pencil is dull?

Everyday at the end of the day, turn in your dull pencils into the DULL drawer. Everyday in the morning get 2 (ONLY 2) sharp pencils from the top SHARP drawer.

How do I turn in my homework?

First thing in the morning, lay it out on top of your homework folder on your desk.

How do we do a lock down drill?

Get behind the sink. Lights off. Blinds closed. Doors locked. Stay very quiet. Hide. The goal is to not be found.

When can I have a mask break? Do I need permission?

No. But you cannot go out when someone else is outside. In the morning, 1 time during independent work, lunch, recess.

What does proper hallway behavior look like?

We are facing the front, hands by our side, an arms length behind the other person, with marshmellow toes on and silent.

When do we use loose leaf paper and when do we use our notebooks to work in?

Loose leaf paper is only for tests, or for work that I tell you will be graded and remind you not to use your notebook. All other practice work is done in your notebook.

When we do something alone in class that does not get graded, where do I put that work?

This is to be done in your notebook on the next blank space.

What is the correct way to use the bathroom?

Knock first. Enter and do your business. Turn around and check the toilet before flushing to make sure you did not leave a mess. Flush. Leave the light on and exit. Wash and towel dry your hands and quickly return to your work.

When can I talk with my friends?

Not during class or instructions.  Station talk has to be on topic.  You can talk at lunch, recess, or freetime.

What should I do if I come in late?

Go to the office and get a late slip.  Put this late slip in the teacher mailbox in the classroom.

Where and where do I put money or signed papers that my family has turned back into the teacher?

First thing in the morning, when unpacking, place all important papers or money to be turned in, into the teacher mailbox (DO NOT bring the teacher papers in the morning!)

Where does your name and date go on your paper? Which one goes on top?

They go on the top right side of the paper.  The name goes on top.

How are we supposed to behave while running errands for the teacher?

Always take a buddy with you in the hall and no running or talking in the hall.  Go straight to the correct place and come straight back.

What is tattling and when should I really tell the teacher?

Tattling is just to get someone in trouble.  Telling is to help someone. Just remember that. Do they really need help? Be honest.

What should we do when we come in in the morning?

Take out homework folder, use the bathroom, get sharp pencils, and start morning work.

How do I get help from the teacher if I am having a hard time with station work? (The teacher is at the ROUND table).
