Make-ups can be done at flex, lunch, before school, after school

If you do not make it up, you will get a zero.

Zero-tolerance for cell phones in class. They must be kept out of sight or they will go into my cell phone holder or the office.

No, Ms. Herman does not give out much homework. You will likely only have homework if you do not finish an assignment in class.

What is Ms. Herman's policy around academic integrity? What happens if you do not follow the policy?

All work handed in must be completed by you! You must hand in your own original copy of assignments! No copying your peers! If you are caught cheating, you will receive an automatic zero and I will contact your parents/guardians and admin.

What are the rules for doing corrections on quizzes and tests to bump up your mark?

Quizzes - no corrections

Tests - Corrections if you were present on the day of the test. If you had an unexcused absence then you cannot do corrections.

Do warm-up activities count for marks in the course? What happens if you're late and miss it?

Yes, warm-up activities count for marks in the course. If you are late and miss it, then you will get a zero for the warm-up that day.

What is Ms. Herman's policy about air pods/headphones? Is there a time when they can be used?

Air pods/headphones cannot be worn when we are doing a lesson together as a class. If you are doing independent work, then you may listen to music as long as you are still getting your work done!

Does Ms. Herman accept late work? What are the rules about late work?

Late work is accepted until marks cut-off for a term. In order to submit late work, you must fill out the Late Assignment Reflection or else it won't be marked.

What is Ms. Herman's policy around the use of AI? What will happen if she suspects AI use?

Assignments and project must be completed in your own words with sources referenced in a reference page. AI cannot be used to write your assignments for you! If I suspect AI use, you will have to submit all of your rough work to prove that you did not use AI and you will have to do an interview with me about your project.
