You respond to call where a youth is threatening to harm his parents if they try to take away his phone. There is no SI history. Parents report that he is highly aggressive and defiant, often escalating when they ask him do to things. They are terrified and do not feel they have any control, therefore, want you guys to come out and de-escalate the youth and potentially send him to some placement outside of the home.

Parents report that he had to come home from school early due to making inappropriate comments and disruptive behavior, so they took away his games, which led to the current escalation. You respond to a crisis call where a family is highly escalated. The identified client is a 15 year old who is currently in services receiving skills. Mom has called the crisis line 4 times in the last month. Most escalations happen as a result of mom disciplining the youth for unwanted behavior like sneaking out, not doing chores, and being around negative peers. Mom believes she is acting out due to previous trauma history. The youth has been to Collin Springs 4 times in the last six months and reports that she often has SI but never any intent to carry out her plans. She reports moderate to serve symptoms of depression and PTSD, and could benefit from more intensive services. Mom is seeking help but is unsure where to start.
