Who has right of way on surface pit ramp? Loaded 740 or light vehicles/empty haul trucks heading down?
Loaded 740 as they shouldnt need to stop and restart as its hard on the trucks and traction can be easily lost.

We are moving from red to blue for 2025
Can you refuel a vehicle that has explosives on board?

On level ground and away from ramp traffic/high traffic areas

What makes an explosives box suitable to a mine inspector?

-Is made of non sparking material (ex: wood)
-Has proper division so that explosives and dets are not grouped together
-Have a lid that can be closed and secured so explosives don't fall during transport
-Box is properly secured to the unit
If your vehicle shuts down on ramp what should you do right away?
-Announce it on the ramp radio channel affected
-Let the Shifter/Supervisor know
-Call for mechanic
-Put on parking/emergency brake prior to exit
-Ensure its parked into a wall or berm with wheels turned all the way towards the wall and put wheel chocks down.
If youre struggling to park or pull into an area like the shop...what would you do?
Call for a spotter and hang tight until you have one. 5 minutes of waiting is a lot better than hitting the shop or worse...someone else

What can we do to help move a load around safety when it is suspended?
Use a tag line from a safe distance to keep yourself out of the potential fall zone of the load.
Is a telehandler basket a suitable spot to transport explosives?
Hard NO

What position should the blast box switch be left in after initiating a blast?
Circuit needs to be returned to open position so that it is not possible to tie in to a closed circuit on the box.

When lifting in an area with pedestrian traffic, what should we be doing prior to starting the lift?
Barricade the area if needed to ensure no one walks into your lifting zone

When entering a working level (mucking light on) what responsibilities do all units entering a level have?
Call their level entry
Ask for permission to enter (if not a haul truck on cycle). Let the scoop know your intentions and even ask where they would prefer for you to park so youre not in harms way.
What would you do if you needed to perform a lift but found an issue with your sling? (cut / burn / torn)

Call the supervisor for a new sling. Take that sling out of service (throw it in a roll off or bring it to safety) so that it doesnt get potentially used again.
What are 2 controls that need to be in place for a unit transporting explosives?
-Proper signage in place
-Proper strobe light in place
-Only carrying those on board who are working with the explosives (not other crew members)
-Ensure to call levels and right of way
-Never leave your vehicle unattended for any reason while transporting explosives
-Do not refuel when explosives are on board
-Turn off the unit when loading and unloading (unless it requires the power of the equipment to do so)
-Only certified blasters and helpers (with certified blasters) should be handling and moving explosives

Do not enter the ramp/pit. Call for a mechanic. Stay with equipment and if unable to, lock out the equipment so it cannot be used by someone else.
