1/3 + 1/2 =
He knows that in order to add fractions, he needs the fractions to have common denominators. One way that he could achieve this is by using the LCM and using that as the new common denominator which is sometimes called the Least Common Denominator. Can you help Mr. Bustos solve this problem telling him what the LCM/LCD is and then what the answer should be for the sum.
The LCM/LCD is 6 and the answer to the problem is 5/6.
State 5 prime numbers.
2,3,5 etc...
Mr. Bustos was having a nightmare about not being able to solve a math problem. He woke up that night crying, but was determined to solve the problem.
He said that the GCF of two prime numbers is always 1. Is he correct to assume this? Why or why not?
Yes he is correct because the only factors are one and itself and so this would mean that when we compare two lists of factors, the only ones that they will share in common will be the number 1.
