What is Team Spirit Day?
You go to this class twice in the same day.
What is PLAY?
Things like "I love how Annie walked just how I asked!", or giving a sticker for good behavior.
What is positive reinforcement, or "catching campers doing the right thing"?
When you have 4 counselors, this is where they should be placed when changing locations with kids.
What is one in the front, one in the back, and others in the middle (spread out!)?
The thing on Thursday where you get to stay after and play.
What is Water Day?
The only class that doesn't take place in the West building.
What is REC?
Things like quietly sitting beside a disruptive camper, or making eye contact with a talking kid.
What are nonverbal cues?
Say "I'll be glad to find someone that can help you get signed out!", text Bonnie & Ali, and walk them to the Chapel (NOT letting them walk away with the camper alone!).
What do you do when a parent tries to pick up a camper during the day?
8:25AM EVERY SINGLE DAY!
What time should counselors be walking into the building each day?
It's in the middle of the day, except on Friday when it becomes first.
What is Worship Rally?
This is something you can try instead of singling out a camper.
What is a group reminder? ("Let's all remember to walk in the halls!"
Examples of keeping emotional boundaries with campers.
What is keeping your "personal life" personal, making your romantic attachments private, and not gossiping with or in front of campers?
You'll need to set a reminder for this on Friday.
What are Sanctuary PLAY rehearsals?
It's 40 minutes long Monday-Wednesday, then changes to 20 minutes long (but no campers are there!).
What is Counselor LUNCH?
This is a better way to say "Stop running!" or "Stop touching him!".
"Please walk in the halls!" or "Keep your hands to yourself." (Framing it as what you want them to do vs. what they're doing wrong)
