We are looking forward to our home visits.  It is required that your school keiki be present, but parents are optional.

It is mandatory that 1 parent be present along with your school keiki.

Keiki and parents may or may not ride the school bus to our field trip destinations.

Keiki and parents MUST ride on the school bus to and from the field trip.

Only the girls needs to be in school by 9:00 am. They will not be marked tardy.

You may opt to bring breakfast and lunch to school. An example is fruits and a peanut-butter and jelly sandwich!

The keiki are grateful to have 5 kumus at our Nanakuli 1 Preschool site!

We have 6 kumus at our Nanakuli 1 preschool site.

3 in room 1 and 3 in room 2!

If your child is feeling sick, he/she can only bring chewable Tylenol and prescription medicine to school!

Keiki are not allowed to administer his/her own medicine in school EVER!

Dismissal time is from 2:30pm to whenever. Anyone can pick up your keiki as long as they have a car.

Umm... actually... dismissal time is from 2:30pm-5:30pm.  Only those authorized on the pick-up list can pick up with a photo-ID.

After (5) Infractions (absences, tardies, early/late pick-up), keiki will get a gold star!

After (5), parents will receive a written reminder and/or have a meeting with teacher.

Anyone can pick your keiki up, even Ka Waihona siblings.

Anyone who's 18+ years on your pick-up list can pick up keiki.  

**Always ask your families to bring a picture ID when picking up your child.

There are 2 times in the year when we end school early.

1) kumu's birthdays

2)Halloween

Founders day on December 19th
Last day of school on May 22nd

A kumu would send a keiki home from school if he/she can't recite the alphabets backwards.

Hair/Nail check will be done DAILY.

We care about your keiki!  That's why we have parent teacher conferences twice a year! Fall and Spring!

Parent-Teacher conferences will be conducted 3 times a year: fall, winter and spring.

We have Emergency drills in the beginning and ending of the school year.  

If we ever evacuate our campus, you can call our cell phone to find our current location.  Our evacuation site is Nanakuli Elementary.

Emergency drills are conducted MONTHLY.  We do fire drills and lockdown.

Evacuation, earthquake and shelter-in-place is done quarterly.

If we ever need to evacuate our campus, our evacuation site is at Nanakuli Intermediate/High School.

In the afternoon, room 1 and 2 will combine before 3pm.  From August to December, pick-up will be in room 3.  From January to May, pick- up will be in room 4.

A challenging behavior is 

1) trying to get the thread through the eye of a needle.

2)cooking dinner without a cookbook.

•Any repeated pattern of behavior that interferes with learning or engagement in pro-social interactions with peers or adults

•Behaviors that are not responsive to the use of developmentally appropriate guidance procedures

•Prolonged tantrums, physical and verbal aggression, disruptive vocal or motor behavior, property destruction, self-injury, noncompliance & withdrawal
