How does NPD appear in relationships? 


In relationships people with NPD will always try and compete. BC they have an inflated sense of self people with NPD will always seek compliments and attention. Partners may feel drained and stressed because they can keep up with their partner's demands. They also may feel inferior bc that is the position their partner with NPD wants them to be in.

Is NPD formed through trauma?


Seeking attention from others and the need to always compete are common symptoms of NPD that can form from trauma. Emotional injury like overwhelming shame and embarrassment can cause people to project an inflated sense of self.

Can continued drug use cause NPD? 


People who use drugs habitually experience more symptoms of narcissism compared to control groups. Symptoms like entitlement and rage are especially prevalent. 

The two issues can be correlated and make symptoms worse but narcissism is NOT induced by habitual drug use.
