Plains region
These home were found in the southwest region. They were made out of clay, pebbles, and straw and could be from four to five stories high. They looked like apartment buildings
Pueblo or Adobe
People in the southwest were expert farmers. They were able to grow this primary source of cloth in their fields. They would weave it into cloth to be made into clothing.

This region's main source of food was buffalo. They also hunted smaller animals such as deer, elk, beaver, and antelope.

Northeast Woodlands
This shelter was found in the Southeast region. They were dwellings built on platforms three feet above the ground. The platform protected the houses from swampy ground. The roof was made of palmetto leaves and there were no walls.
Chickee
Native Americans wore these leather shoes during cold weather.

This region was the first to transport water to grow crops due to dry weather. They also hunted animals like turkey, rabbit, and antelope.

In the Northeast, the people used large homes made by bending small trees into a frame. This frame was covered with mats made from birch bark trees. Many families could live in one house.
