I was a Lakota Sioux who was raised by relatives when my mother died. I thought my father was dead to later find he was not, and had completely assimilated into American culture. He came for me and made me live with him. He taught me farming and ranching. We lived in a log house. He made me cut my hair, go to school, and wear white people's clothes. Eventually I went to college and became a doctor. I became to the first government physician for an Indian Reservation. I became a member of several Progressive organizations and encouraged Boy Scouts and YMCAs in reservations. I wrote books and articles to bring awareness to the mistreatment of Native Americans. I interviewed almost every living member of the Lakota Sioux. I was awarded the Most distinguished achievements award by a Native American at the Chicago Wold's Fair and died at the age of 80. Who am I?
