Symbolism or meaning of Myrrh?
Myrrh was extracted in a very similar way as frankincense but from a different tree. The word myrrh comes from the Hebrew word mar, meaning "bitter". . Again, myrrh was the fruit of intense labor which made it precious and valuable, therefore the wise men found this gift as an acceptable offering to our Lord Jesus Christ. The myrrh also symbolized Christ's sufferings unto death
