Sap is collected from a maple tree, then the sap is boiled down until it has a syrupy consistency.
What is the difference between rock and ore?
Rock contains no metal, ore contains metal.

How is paper made?
Trees are ground into a pulp, mixed with water and boiled, and then spread out to dry into paper.
How do we get metal from ore?
Heat the ore up until it's so hot that the metal melts away, then pour the metal out and allow it to cool.
Name 2 ways to conserve water.
Turn off the water when brushing your teeth, take shorter showers, use drip systems to water plants, etc.
Why should we conserve natural resources?
Natural resources can run out if they're overused.
We need trees to survive, and replanting helps ensure that we will have trees in the future.
Why are the oceans salty?
When water comes in contact with rocks, the salt minerals on them dissolve in the water and carry it to the ocean, where is it trapped.
Why should we conserve water?
Fresh water is relatively rare, so we should take care not to waste it, especially if we go through a period of time with no rain (a drought).
