NEVER. always stay with. Even if your replacement is late, you can not leave them.

Refill water, check hat/urinal to empty, empty trash or linen, make sure care board is updated, small talk with patient, etc.

NO. Call staffing and/or charge to see if you are needed somewhere else. Never just go home. If you have yet to take a break, commutate that with the charge RN.
