So people have support when they need it.
Why is a support network important?
Change in relationships, change in environment (like schools, knowledge of who will act and believe you)
Why is it important to review our networks regularly?
You need to emphasise that persistence in telling is very important. If a student is not believed or not helped, they need to tell another support person in their netwrok. This continues until help is received.
What is it important to be persistent in telling people?
They need to be accessible, have empathy, good listener, sensible and have the time to focus on you as an individual.
What are qualities that might a good support network person have or need?
Not believe you, say they will do something and not do it.
What could a person do on your network to break your trust?
There are some situations were adults need to provide support for a situation to change.
Why do some adults need to be included?
It will be difficult to talk about some issues with one particular group.
Why do we need to identify network support people from different aspects of our lives?
Breaking trust, damage to your support network, facing the fact you have abused your power.
What are the consequences if you dont' fulfill your responsibilities of telling the truth?
People may not report abuse or seek help from supportive networks due to a complex mix of reasons, including fear of retaliation from the abuser, shame or embarrassment, and concerns about not being believed or judged.
What are some reasons it can be difficult to "tell" someone?
Having websites or emergency information helps because external specialists may be needed in emergencies.
