How is a contraction made? For example: it's

A contraction is made by putting two words together and leaving out a letter or letters. An apostrophe is used in place of the missing letter or letters.

An apostrophe can be used to show ownership. For example: Pip owns a pin. It's Pip's pin. Who owns the pin? Pip.

What is a verb?

A verb is a word that shows action. Somebody or something (the noun) is doing something. Tells what is happening in a sentence.

The consonant letter s can be pronounced two different ways. What are the two sounds it makes?

The letter s can be pronounced (s). The (s) sound is blocked by the teeth. The (s) sound is an unvoiced consonant sound. It is a continuant sound.
