An antiemetic that increases gastrointestinal motility (prokinetic)
What is Metoclopramide (Reglan)?
Used to treat anaphylactic shock and cardiac arrest (CPR)
What is epinephrine?
Phenothiazine sedative often used a a preanesthetic - can cause paraphimosis in horses
What is acepromazine?
Full (pure) mu agonist used for severe pain and as a preanesthetic. Poor oral bioavailability
What is morphine?
Dissociative anesthetic and analgesic which causes amnesia and cataleptic state. Causes muscle rigidity
What is Ketamine?
Anticholinergic for treatment of bradycardia, ocular pain from corneal ulcers and antidote for organophosphate toxicity
What is Atropine?
Used to treat urinary incontinence in dogs
What is Phenylpropanolamine?
A benzodiazepine used for muscle relaxation during anesthesia and as a treatment for seizures. Injection must be given IV only
What is diazepam?
Kappa agonist and mu antagonist primarily used for sedation and cough suppressant. Class IV controlled
What is butorphanol?
Barbiturate used for long term control of seizures. Requires therapeutic drug monitoring
What is phenobarbital?
A preanesthetic used to reduce excessive salivation and prevent bradycardia
What is glycopyrrolate?
Reversal agent for xylazine
What is yohimbine?
Used for sedation and analgesia in dogs and cats often combined as a pre-anesthetic or used alone for short procedures. Reversed with atipamezole.
What is dexmedetomidine (Dexdomitor)?
Partial mu agonist and kappa antagonist used for analgesia in dogs and cats. Can be given by injection, PO and transdermal. Class III controlled
What is buprenorphine?
Injectable agent used for euthanasia.
Can be class II or III
What is pentobarbital?
Drug that treats bladder atony and urine retention
What is Bethanechol?
Beta-blocker used to treat hypertrophic cardiomyopathy in cats (better for cats with asthma)

Beta-blocker used to treat glaucoma in dogs, cats and horses

Alpha-2 agonist used for sedation and analgesia in horses-comes as an injectable and oral gel

Class II controlled substance used to suppress cough in dogs
What is hydrocodone?
State of profound sedation and analgesia achieved by combining a tranquilizer and an opioid
