When you issue a referral, select referral reason, "Tech: Blackboard Orientation." This will generate a case to the specialty coach in the online learning dept.
Of course, if it something minor, you can also assist the student.

This role helps the student plan their program, register for classes, and discuss a success plan to help them reach their goals.
What is Pathway Advisor?
Every program student is assigned an advisor who they can make an appointment with. If they come in as a drop-in appt, they can see any available advisor in their pathway.
A department where students can talk to someone about housing, food pantry, or to meet with a social worker.
What is Student Resource Center?
There is also a referral in Navigate called, "Student Resource Center- NOT for advising or course concerns." And this will generate a case to the social worker.

This function is where you would document one-way communications.
What is Add a Note?
Student mentions that they are a veteran or military affiliated student and is seeking additional resources.
What is submit a referral?
When you issue a referral, select referral reason, "Military Affiliated Student Support." This will generate a case to the Veteran Resource Specialist.
Student is going through a divorce and cannot focus on class.
What is inappropriate?
That is personal legal information. Instead say, "Student stated they are going through some family/ life challenges and it is becoming harder to focus." IF They stated that - not because you assumed that.
The dept you connect with if a student makes statements about harming themselves or others.
What is report this to Public Safety? Do not use the Navigate referral system for this as it is not to be use for emergency situations. Academic concerns only.
A department where students who are interested in joining student organizations or wants more information about student activities on campus.

Anything that you put in Navigate is filed under the student's history in their profile and can be seen by other faculty and staff. This information can also be used in court if subpoena.

No one can remove a student your class. Only student can withdrawal themselves (before a certain date). Or they can get administratively dropped based on attendance of the firs two weeks of class as long as you take attendance correctly.
Student was doing really well at the start of the semester but has stopped coming to class. He is behind on his assignments and doesn't respond to my emails or phone calls. Can someone from the pathway office check in with student to see if they need additional support.

You have stated academic facts without inputting our opinion. You are hoping someone else from their success team can get a hold of the student.
