Who is Amelia Mcsweeney and what was her role in the creation of Theta Phi Alpha?

One of our founders. Bishop Kelly asked her to reinvigorate the effort to build an organization for Catholic college women. She believed that the problem with the other sorority was it was run by their undergraduate members. Helped this new organization, or what we know now as Theta Phi Alpha, with housing and financial problems.

our national philanthropies:

1. The House That Theta Phi Built - provide aid to homeless shelters, home building

2. Camp Friendship - two week summer camp in Mississippi from disadvantaged and low income homes 

3. Glennmary Home Missioners - serves the spiritual and material needs of those living in rural Appalachia, where they distribute food, clothing, and books to needy persons, and assist in providing medical care, job training and tutoring
