What is a lesson? What does "during lessons" mean?
A lesson is when I am teaching the whole class. So, that means math, reading, social studies, or science.

To get our energy out, and use this time to talk with friends.
What does working independently, or independent work time mean?
It means completing your work on your own.

RAISE YOUR HAND!!!
But also, you have to wait to be called on, EVEN if your hand is raised!!
What specials do we have on Fridays?
NONE! It is a half day, so no specials.
What 5 things do we need to go on the hill in the winter?
1. Boots
2. Hats
3. Gloves
4. Snow pants
5. Winter COAT
What do we do if we have a question?
Raise your hand and wait for the teacher to call on you, or call you back to her desk.
Why is it important we are facing forward in line, and doing hugs and bubbles?
So we do not walk into anything or anyone while walking, and because the other classes are trying to learn, and trying to do their best. If we are not facing forward or doing hugs and bubbles, that is distracting to others.
True or false: It is okay to go to the bathroom during a lesson if it is an emergency.
Extra Credit: How do you ask to go to the bathroom?
Absolutely! You can always go to the bathroom during a lesson if it is an emergency. BUT, if it is right after a time that you can normally go to the bathroom (independent work time, morning work time, morning meeting, snack) then I might say no.

Why do we have specials?
To learn things like art, music, and Phy. Ed. This is an earned PRIVILEGE, not a RIGHT!
What do we do as soon as we hear the whistle?
Line up without arguing about line order.
What if someone is talking to you during independent work time?
First, ask them to stop talking to you and ignore them. Then, if they don't stop, tell the teacher.
What can happen if we are doing our job in the hallway, and any time?
You can get a SHOUTOUT! And, you should always want to do your best! Be a LEADER!
How can you show you are listening to a lesson?
Looking at Ms. Hintz, not talking to others, raising our hands if we have a question, responding to questions Ms. Hintz asks.
True or False: We can do whatever we want during specials because it is free time.
FALSE!!! We need to continue to do our best work, and be on our best behaviors during specials because they are a fun privilege. (p.s. there isn't much time for specials in a day, so we need to be on our best behaviors so we can have all of our time to learn what we can!
What do we do if someone is being physical at recess?
Tell a teacher. Do NOT be physical back.
Why do we have independent work time?
To show what we know, not what our partner knows. And, to prepare us for 3rd grade where there is more independent work time.
Why do we need to make sure we go to the bathroom, and come right back?
1. To make sure the teacher knows where you are at all times so that we know you are safe.
2. The faster you are, the faster that other students can go to the bathroom. If you had to go to the bathroom really bad, but you had to wait for a friend, you would not be happy if they were playing around in the bathroom instead.
Why do we need to make sure we are using our best listening skills during lessons? Why are lessons important?
You learn everything you need to learn for our tests, and for 3rd grade when you listen during lessons. If we are not doing our best to listen to lessons and are talking, then our classmates can't learn either, and that is not fair.

What do we do if someone is being rude or annoying at recess?
First we ask them to stop, then we walk away and play somewhere else.
What do I do when I'm done?
1. Double check the board to make sure you have done everything that the board says (Morning work, missing homework).
2. Turn in your work if you need to.
3. Make sure you have 4 sharp pencils.
4. Make sure all your papers are in your folder.
5. Read to self, work on spelling packet.
