What is a bar graph?
A bar graph is a graphical representation of data on similar things.
100
What is a mean and how do you find it?
A mean is the average of all the number values in a data set. You must divide the sum of the numbers by the number of values.

According to the Buckle Down NJ ASK book on page 27 What are the relative percentages of hydrogen, helium, and other elements at the center of the sun core? Where in the sun do they stop changing and level off?
Though percentages will change slightly, hydrogen makes up 34%, helium makes up 64%, and other elements make up 2%. The elements level off at the edge of the sun core.

According to the circle graphs on page 29 of the NJ ASK Buckle Down, which of Jupiter's four largest moons has the greatest mass? Least Dense?
Ganymede has the largest mass and Callisto is the least dense.

A scientist wants to show how raising the temperature of a gas will increase its volume. If the scientist wants a reader to see this relationship quickly, which of the following would be the best choice for representing the data?
The line graph.
200
What is a best-fit line?
A straight line on a graph that has as many points above it as below.
200
What is a median?
The middle value in a group of numbers arranged in order, or if there is an even number of values, the average of the two middle values.
200
The core of the sun acts as a fusion reactor that turns any hydrogen atoms in its boundaries into helium atoms. Use this fact to explain the data shown on the graph. Refer to page 27 on Buckle Down NJ ASK.
It makes sense that the core would have a higher percentage of helium than hydrogen. It also makes sense that if one gets farther away from the fusion reactions in the core the percentage of hydrogen increases and the percentage of helium decreases.
200
Refer to the chart on page 32 in the Buckle Down NJ Ask Review. Find the mean, median, and mode of the number of butterflies arthur saw between 1 P.M and 2 P.M.
The mean is 28 butterflies. There is no mode and the median is 16 butterflies.
200
What is the most appropriate way to represent an investigation on a graph in which a beaker filled with ice and water is allowed to warm in room-temperature air?
First you would label the y axis as temperature. Then name the x axis as time. The line on the graph representing the data will start out a little above the bottom left corner of the graph labeled zero. The line will slightly increase up the graph over time. Then the line will curve up the graph, and curve again horizontally.
300
What is a circle graph?
A circle graph is a graphic representation of data showing percentages of a whole.
300
What is mode?
Mode is the number of values that occur most frequently in a data set.
300
Estimate the difference between Mar's minimum and maximum distances from the Earth. Also, which two terrestrial planets have orbits that are shaped most like circles? Refer to page 28 on Buckle Down NJ ASK.
Mar's minimum and maximum distances from Earth is around 40 million Kilometers. Venus and Earth has obits that are shaped most like circles.
300
Refer to page 30 in the Buckle Down NJ Ask Review. Do all fir trees with circumferences of 29 cm have the same height? Explain.
No they do not have the same height because they do not have the same circumferences.
300
Rashad drove his car at a constant speed of 100 km/hr, how can you best represent Rashard's speed in a graph?
You would label the y axis as speed. Then label the x axis as time. The line on the graph representing Rashad's CONSTANT speed of 100 will be a straight horizontal line in the middle of the graph.
400
What is data?
Data is information that explains events or qualities.
400
What is a scatter-plot?
A scatter-plot is a graph of points representing a collection of data.
400
According to the circle graphs on page 28 of the NJ ASK Buckle Down, which single body contains most of the solar system's mass?
The single body that contains most of the solar systems mass is Ganymede.
400
On page 36 of the Buckle Down workbook show a graph of calories eaten and burned by four kids. According to the graph shown, which person is most likely losing weight?
Irene because she burns the most calories.
400
The bar graph on page 38 of the Buckle Down workbook shows the order of the planets from closest to the sun to farthest from the sun. How can you best interpret the bar graph?
What is the four outer planets have a lower average density than the four inner planets.
500
What is a line graph?
A line graph is a graphic representation of data showing how the change in one variable affects another.
500
What is a table?
A table is a set of rows and columns that displays data.
500
According to the circle graphs on page 28 of the NJ ASK Buckle Down, which group makes up the greater percentage of the solar system's mass? Terrestrial planets or gas giants?
The greater percentage of the solar system's mass is made up of gas giants.
500
Pamela has data on the percentage of students in eighth grade that rank horror, romance, comedy and drama as their favorite type of movie. What is the best way to represent Pamela's data?
A circle graph.

Ten people from a retirement home, Rico, and Jessica play bingo. Rico is fourteen and Jessica is fifteen. The ages of the other players are: 75, 81, 82, 68, 90, 87, 68, 93, 84, and 73. Should Rico use mean, median or mode to find the number that best represents the age of most bingo players, why?
What is Rico should use median because most players are over 80 years old. The mean and median would not be accurate.
