Describe Leadership
Leaders are resourceful, good problem solvers, and idea contributors who take initiative in class or school activities. They are expected to demonstrate responsibility and influence others positively.
What happens if you miss a meeting?
If you cannot attend a meeting you are expected to let the Vice President, President, or Chapter Advisor know ahead of time.
Should you EVER vote for your friend who is running, if they don’t fit the role?
No, pick the person who is best suited for the position.

What are some possible activities we do in NJHS?
We participate in winter fest and multicultural night, we get to go to a school to read to children (skipping school), and we do feeding Florida. There are plenty more these are just some!
Describe Service

what do we do in winter fest?
Dress up, set up our booth (make it look pretty!), sell items we make from scratch, sell a food, and have fun afterwards! You can also earn some service hours from this as well.

This entails understanding one’s role in the community and active participation in school or local affairs. It includes respecting rules, property, and the environment.
Does your behavior at school count in NJHS?
Yes, you are not expected to have any behavioral issues.
What roles can you run for at NJHS?
Treasurer, president, secretary, historian, vice president
What is the difference between sponsored and non sponsored service hours?
Sponsored hours are the ones you complete with NJHS or in a school sponsored event. Non sponsored hours are the ones you complete in your own time.
True or false: NJHS members pretty much decide what activities we want to do and how we do it. (Must get approved by teacher)
True! Most of the time we get to decide what we want to do for activities that year, and how we want to do them.

How do you become the president?
Each person will get an interview, once the candidates are decided each person will vote on who they think best fits the role. Once the votes are in the person with the most wins.

What is the purpose of reading across America?
To read to children so they can learn to read better and experience the joy of it.
