This means we do not want to a generation of individuals - specifically youth - to grow up in conflict and/or experience the trauma of a refugee background, and to be provided the same opportunities as everyone else, no matter their background

What is Title 42 and why is it important regarding the refugee crisis?
Title 42 is the name of an emergency health authorioty given to the president, allowing them to halt migrant admissions into the US. It was passed under the Trump administration tp stop migrants crossing from Mexico and continued under the Biden administration until the announcement of the end of national COVID-19 emergencies.

Migrants and other foreign-born individuals are more likely than native-born Americans to establish businesses; an expanding population is generally good for growing an economy; many other reasons!

Increaced ferocity of natural disasters (floods, fires, storms, etc.), heightened water and food scarcity, previously mentioned factors that increase chances for inter- and intra-state conflict
