objective
no feelings of writer revelead; just facts; used in reports and biographies

to relate to a series of events
Answers: what happened?
chronology
the arrangement of events or dates in the order of their occurrence
Autobiographies
an account of a person's life written by the writer
Persuasion
to persuade the reader to believe or do something.
uses a combination of the above three methods
