Virchow's Triad

Babinski's Sign
when you move up the bottom of the feet and they fan out instead of curling downwards (positive Babinski Sign)
Beck's Triad
- jugular vein distention
- muffled heart sounds
- hypotension
- indicates cardiac tamponade
Trousseau's Sign
using a blood pressure cuff and the arm starts having carpal spasm
Chvostek's Sign
Twitching when facial nerve is stimulated
Brudzinski's Sign
Involuntary flexion of the hip and knee when the neck is passively flexed; indicates meningeal irritation
Cushing's Triad
- bradycardia
- irregular respirations
- hypertension
- signals severely elevated ICP
Murphy's Sign
when you palpate the right upper quadrant and patient takes a deep breath in, but abruptly stops/catches their breath
- assesses acute cholecystitis / inflammation of gallbladder
Sjogren's Syndrome Classic Triad
- dry eyes
- dry mouth
- fatigue
Kernig's Sign
Loss of the ability of a supine client to straighten the leg completely when it is fully flexed at the knee and hip; indicates meningeal irritation
