Induction and labor
Initiation and/or continuation of cervical ripening in patients at or near term in whom there is a medical or obstetrical indication for the induction of labor.
What is Cervidil (dinoprostone)?
Based on HHC order set, first IV medication administer to treat hypertensive emergency in pregnancy or postpartum
What is labetalol?
Used to produce uterine contractions during the third stage of labor and to control postpartum bleeding or hemorrhage
What is oxytocin?
Recommended regimens for intrapartum antimicrobial prophylaxis for perinatal GBS disease prevention for patients with cephalosporin allergy
What is clindamycin?
Antenatal use of corticosteroids to accelerate fetal lung maturation
What is betamethasone?
Dilators absorb surrounding moisture and gradually swell to dilate the cervix
What is laminaria?
Hypertensive emergency in pregnancy or postpartum (including acute-onset severe hypertension in preeclampsia/eclampsia)
What is labetalol?
Use with caution in patients with a history of asthma
What is Carboprost (Hemabate)?
Used for surgical prophylaxis if patient has labored prior to C-section
What is azithromycin?
Pregnant patients should receive a single dose injection with each pregnancy, regardless of previous vaccination status, preferably during the early part of 27 to 36 weeks' gestation.
What is TDAP?
In the antepartum period, initiation or improvement of uterine contraction
What is oxytocin?
The use of this immediate-release oral medication is effective and recommended as a treatment option for acute/severe BP control in pregnancy
What is nifedipine?
Recommended for the treatment of obstetric hemorrhage when initial therapy fails
What is Tranexamic Acid?
Recommended for intrapartum antimicrobial prophylaxis for perinatal GBS disease prevention
What is ampicillin?
Active immunization against infection caused by all known subtypes of hepatitis B virus (HBV)

Prevention and treatment of seizures in eclampsia or preeclampsia with severe features
What is magnesium sulfate?
Used as adjunctive therapy with oxytocin for patients experiencing a postpartum hemorrhage
What is Misoprostol?
Recommended for intrapartum prophylaxis to prevent early-onset GBS disease in the newborn in mothers at high risk for anaphylaxis to penicillin and who have documented clindamycin-resistant GBS or no available susceptibility data
What is vancomycin?
Used as a tocolytic agent (only short-term [≤72 hours]) for the management of preterm labor to prolong pregnancy and allow for the administration of antenatal steroids
What is terbutaline?
Used for cervical ripening and labor induction, early pregnancy loss and incomplete abortion
What is misoprostol?
Used to treat acute-onset, severe, persistent hypertension in pregnancy and postpartum
What is hydralazine?
Contraindicated for patients with hypertension
What is methylergonovine (methergine)?
Used for surgical prophylaxis prior to C-section
What is ceFAZolin?
Perinatal exposure of infants born to HBsAg-positive mothers
