Sister Tamara W. Runia spoke of losing her oldest son Ryan to an undiganosed heart issue. He died the day before a daughter's 2nd birthday. She could not fix this and did not understand why it happened, but clarified that not understanding is not the same as not believing. She gave this example for when you follow instructions even when you don't have the big picture.

Elder Matthew Eyring shared about sitting with a couple who had lost one of their twins right before birth. Elder Eyring and his wife had a similar experience. He spoke of the privilege it was to "______ with those who ______ and _______ those that stand in need of _______." (Mosiah 18:9)

Elder Hutch U. Fale showed baby pictures of his 5 children. He asked, "As of the date these pictures were taken, what had you done to earn this love?"
His children replied, "Nothing." He used this object lesson to teach his children this powerful truth about Heavenly Father.

Elder Patricio M. Giuffra spoke of a sister he taught on his mission who worked as a housecleaner. She had only enough money to pay rent on the room where she lived and to buy food and a little firewood. Elder Giuffra's mission president gave this excellent counsel when asked about this sister's situation.

He explained that opposition comes to all (even the righteous) and told some stories of opposition as his family traveled to serve as mission leaders and the opposition a missionary experienced a week before returning home. Sister Brinkerhoff's father died in a car accident the week before she returned from her mission. "The past few weeks have been the most awful and the most sacred in my life...I know Jesus knows what this feels like, and He will heal me."
YM Gen President Timothy L. Farnes shared an experience of meeting Elder Oaks in the temple. It had been a long day of church meetings for Pres. Farnes, and he was feeling very discouraged. Pres. Oaks took the time to ask how Pres. Farnes was REALLY doing. Years later, they met in Pres. Oaks office. "Remember the conversation we had in the temple?" This was then-Elder Oaks' response?

Elder Vai Sikahema told a story of his grandparents' 2.5 day voyage across stormy seas near Tonga to hear an apostle speak on a neighboring island. The couple's infant son died of exposure. This was their own pioneer trail. To emphasize the importance of listening to an apostle's words, he quoted a DM from this year. "Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secrets unto his ________ ___ ________."

Edward Dube told of when President Oaks asked that a sign be taken down from the mission office to make it more welcoming. We don't need to be perfect to come unto Christ. We come unto Christ to be perfected in Him.

Elder Michael A. Dunn told of receiving the world's first ever "Ted talk" when his running partner helped him through a difficult time during this scenario. (Describe what was happening).
What is Ted gave him a pep talk to help him through a 100 mile race. Elder Dunn wanted to give up at mile 90, but Ted knew his friend could do it, took on his hydration pack, lightened his burden, and literally moved every step through the most difficult part of the trail.
Elder Dale G. Renlund told a story about Mr. Martin, who needed not just one but TWO heart transplants. On the day that he was to be discharged from the hospital, Mr. Martin was visibly frustrated. What was his "big" challenge that morning and/or Elder Renlund's response?
