Why is literacy important?
Learning to read and write WELL is a lifelong skill that will help lead you to success! And it's fun!
When is a good time to sharpen a pencil?
What is the hand signal for water? For bathroom? How do you sign out? How often can you leave? How many people can leave at once?
W = water, fingers crossed = bathroom. Just sign out with your name, grade, and time and take a clip. Only one person out of the room at a time.

A 4-week long cycle of literacy class where we all read the same book in a specific genre and do interesting activities tied to the book.

You missed a day of class. What should you do?
1) Try to get into the habit of emailing your teacher that you'll be gone if you can! My email is kelly@odysseydenver.org.
2) Check the "Absent Work" for the day you missed and there should be information for you.
What are hallway expectations?
Use common sense and remember that other classes may be in class when you are in the hall. Speak quietly (whisper voice), walk calmly, and use self-awareness.

No cell phones during the school day (8:20-3:30). If we see your phone we will have to take it.
