The first step is completing the required activeity (i.e., get BLS training, get intern license, get immunization, etc.).  The second step is to document the required activity as needed (i.e., upload to Personal Records, send documents to practice site contact person, etc.)

Preceptors may ask students to complete more than 160 hours at the rotation site and may also ask them to work on projects/homework outside of their time at the rotation site.  Preceptors may expect students to arrive on site considerably earlier for them so that the student can be appropriately prepared for the day. 

Students should not plan to work on seminar during rotation time nor should students plan to leave rotation early every week during a rotation to attend seminar.

Students are responsible for making sure they are up to date on all requirements throughout their entire APPE year.  Being out of compliance on one or more requirements at any time can result in the student being removed from rotation and their graduation date could be delayed.

What is Student Concern About Learning Environment?


Information on Student Concern About Learning Environment evaluations goes only to the Director of Experiential Education.  This is an ad hoc evaluation that students can submit at any time.

Students can and should submit the Student Concern About Learning Environment evaluation anytime something is going wrong on rotation (i.e., significant conflict with their preceptor, harassment, violation of law, etc.).
