What is our check-in/out procedure when you are working alone?
- Regardless of whether you are working alone or not, you should be checking in every morning with your supervisor
- Let them know if you are working alone, and have a more frequent check-in throughout the day
- If you are leaving your premise (for a walk, lunch, accompaniment), let your supervisor know when you are leaving and when you are back
- If you are working alone, you must check out with your supervisor and must let them know approximately what time you would be finished so they can expect a check-out
What should you do if you find a hazard?
- Report to the OHS representative or HR
- In the meantime, you could ask yourself and others if you are able to minimize the risk by (a) modifying the equipment or design of the workplace, (b) select appropriate safety features when purchasing or replacing equipment, and/or (c) use PPE when necessary.
