No! Not until you've consulted with Pentad to confirm it is a finding and agree with the way the OIG has written the finding.

No, the OIG does not allow any recordings to occur.

What are some good tips for being in a virtual meeting with surveyors?
Mute your line and have their camera on during the session – do not attempt to fill the void – if there is SILENCE it is ok! Don't put anything in the chat room/chat box that you aren't okay with the surveyors reading!!
Is it a good idea to ramble on and on and on and get into the weeds with the OIG?
Ummmmmm, no.
What has been a frequent concern and sometimes finding the OIG has given related to QSV meetings/minutes? (Facility and VISN Level)
Lack of consistent aggregating of data and follow up on action plan (think of this--WHO WILL DO WHAT BY WHEN). Also, don't close out an item until the loop has been closed......and consider if it should remain open for so many months to ensure sustainment......
No VISN thus far has had an on site EOC survey during their CHIP review, so we are free and clear on this, right?
Heck no....the OIG has made no such promise. We need to be ready for the EOC review just in case we are the first!

How should I greet the surveyor, whether virtually or in person?
With warmth, respect and our awesome Southern hospitality. Even the most formal or stand off'ish surveyor is a human being. So when you are asked what you are proud of in your work, BE PREPARED TO TALK! :)
May I send documents directly to the OIG surveyor?
No, please vet these through QM before giving to surveyors

Seriously????? NO! Be comfortable with silence of master the art of small talk about safe topics such as Mexican food, what's on Netflix and how do you take your coffee. All other subjects are off limits :)

Poor attendance at meetings.........Not having the correct staff in attendance......Documentation lacking required elements (Interfacility Transfers, Suicide Prevention/Planning, Education given on med mgmt)......many other answers will suffice :)
Why oh why won't they just come to VISN 16 and survey us already??????????
